Like many modern romances, ours began with a swipe. It was Jessie’s last match, and Erick’s first. At a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant, we talked and laughed and talked some more, until the staff forced us home as they closed. We were so sure that it was meant to be, we both cancelled our subscriptions.
The next few dates were spent covering countless topics. We threw everything we could at the relationship to prove it was solid: discussions on our histories and future life goals, travel, camping, and food from all parts of the world. We talked about our thoughts on family, belief in God, and found we were like-minded in so many ways.
So, as close as two peas in a pod, we tackled some international adventures together. And while we learned we’re not perfectly in sync on every little thing—like Croatian rental cars or tipping hotel concierges—we chose to focus on the 99% where we do match, and build a life together on that.
We are crazy about each other and look forward to the rest of our lives as Husband and Wife, Lovers, and Best Friends.
